One of the first books I read in English was Breakfast of Champions. I was astounded at how irreverent it was possible to be in your writing. One of my favourite quotes is one from him:
I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can’t see from the center.
Not everyday does a master like Vonengut die in one’s lifetime. He showed us where the buck stops in novel writing. Long live Kilgore Trout.
